The Global Agricultural Productivity (GAP) Initiative brings together expertise from Virginia Tech and other universities, the private and public sectors, civil society organizations, and global research institutions to align efforts to accelerate agricultural productivity growth around the world.

The GAP Report® is the heart of the GAP Initiative.  Virginia Tech assumed leadership of the Global Agricultural Productivity Report in 2019.  Founded in 2010, the GAP Report uses publicly available data to monitor global trends in agricultural total factor productivity, a measure of how efficiently agricultural resources and inputs are used to produce output.  This annually produced report is the premier source for productivity data, analysis, and policy recommendations that inspire action — a core pillar of CALS Global.

Every Farmer, Every Tool

The 2023 GAP Report® explores the opportunities and barriers to farmer access and adoption of proven, appropriate tools for sustainable agricultural productivity growth.
