Internships are one the best ways to get experience in your area of interest, meet people who have been where you are, and make connections with potential future employers.

How do I find an internship?
From Dr. Jay Kyle, former assistant director for career development and career relations and CALS liason, "There are many ways to get experience, including field study, part-time jobs, summer jobs, volunteering, service-learning, shadowing, para-professional opportunities, co-op, undergraduate research, extracurricular involvement and leadership. Depending on your major and career field, other terminology and types of experience may be applicable.
Networking is the key to finding experiences, so don’t be afraid to talk to people you know, and other people they might point you to, to learn about their careers and let them know what you’re interested in."
