Preparation of Release Request

Requests for germplasm release should be submitted by the originating scientist(s) to the department head, unit leader, or their designee for peer review before being sent to the Plant Germplasm Release Committee contact. The department head will appoint knowledgeable faculty members to review the request and provide further suggestions before returning it to the originator. For off-campus Agricultural Research and Extension Centers (ARECs), the review should include faculty from the on-campus academic department to keep them informed of new release requests. Similarly, off-campus faculty should be involved in reviews originating from on-campus academic departments as appropriate.
