My research examines reactions at the mineral water interface that control the solubility and potential bioavailability of nutrients and inorganic contaminants in the environment. This information is critical for developing cost effective remediation techniques that are protective of the environment and human health. I currently teach two courses in the OMALS program; CSES 5114 Soils for Professionals and CSES 5604 Environmental Science for Professionals. I am also the coordinator of the Environmental Science Concentration in OMALS.

My research focuses on understanding and quantifying the movement of water, gases, nutrients, and contaminants in various landscapes, with a primary focus on agroecosystems. I also work to better understand physical and hydraulic properties of soils and other growing media. I have served as a committee chair and committee member in the OMALS program.
