The Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture is a three-year, $80-million pilot supported by the United States Department of Agriculture's Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program.  Led by the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Alliance will distribute more than $57 million of the largest grant in the university’s history to producers to enact climate-friendly practices and serve as a pilot program for a national model.

Samantha manages the communications and outreach strategy across the four partner states, working with more than a dozen partner and producer groups to recruit farmers, ranchers, and forest owners into the pilot program.  Her key responsibilities include leading the Alliance’s brand, overseeing media relations, communicating the pilot’s value to key stakeholders, and running all things social media (follow us on InstagramFacebookX, and LinkedIn!).

With a focus on local food systems, Samantha brings over ten years of experience working across multiple sectors to advance sustainability in agriculture.  She holds a B.S. in Geography, Sustainable Architecture and Planning from Texas A&M University (2014) and a M.S. in Environmental Partnership Management from the University of Aberdeen (2019).
