February is Financial Aid Awareness Month

sunlight through the trees

As we kick off Financial Aid Awareness Month, we want to share the exciting opportunities we have for both students and families, as well as campus partners, to engage with the Financial Aid office and learn more about financial aid processes.

For Students and Families:
The Financial Aid office staff will be offering a series of "Unlock Your Financial Aid" Zoom sessions throughout the month. These sessions will cover key topics such as the FAFSA process, updates to the 2025-2026 FAFSA, and helpful tips for smooth FAFSA submissions. The sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • Feb 12th at 7pm
  • Feb 13th at 1pm
  • Feb 18th at 1pm
  • Feb 26th at 1pm
  • Feb 27th at 5pm

Students and families can register for these sessions here: FAFSA Zoom Session Registration

We hope you'll have the opportunity to join some of these sessions throughout Financial Aid Awareness Month. They're a great way to further support your students and stay informed about important financial aid updates.

Applied Economic Problem-Solving (AAEC 4414) is The Kohl Centre’s flagship experiential learning class where students address economic problems raised by professional partners, either policy-makers or entrepreneurs. Students learn to deal with wicked problems by practicing problem identification and developing solutions in partnership with their professional partners. Such solutions encompass tools in economics, finance, and agribusiness more broadly, which the students would have learned throughout their time at Virginia Tech. As such, all students have a unique opportunity to bring all their knowledge to bear in the pursuit and completion of their project, in a collaborative context.
