Pursuing a master's degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech

Carina has more than ten years of community development and agriculture work experience through services in AmeriCorps, Peace Corps in Timor-Leste, local non-profit organizations and regional farms. She has farmed in Oregon, Colorado and most recently in Washington state, as the farm manager at Central Washington University. In 2023, Carina was named one of USDA Foreign Agricultural Service's International Agricultural Fellows. 

Carina completed her undergraduate studies in international business at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, CA and is currently engaged in her master's program in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech.
