“What sparked my love for steam, and what I enjoy the most is the impact I could have on others. I was drawn in by the influence of my uncle who worked in the agricultural department of the World Bank.”

Moussa is a first-generation student and the oldest of his siblings. During his undergraduate studies, he coordinated, participated in, and interviewed students from both Virginia Tech and Tennessee State University through the research project Illuminating Agricultural Extension and Education Career Opportunities (Illuminate). After completing his master’s degree, Moussa anticipates pursuing a career in international agricultural development with a focus on Africa.  His research interests include food insecurity and determining how projects such as Illuminate affect food security in the Department of Bambey, Senegal.

Moussa holds a Bachelors in Agricultural Science from Virginia Tech and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Agricultural Leadership Community Education from Virginia Tech.
