“My first memory of having an attachment for animals began as a kindergartener with an obsession for sheep and that ignited an innate curiosity about animals and science.”

Kamryn has always had a love for science connected to animals and has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. This motivated her to pursue a career in the animal sciences. Kamryn’s current area of study focuses on the reproductive physiology of cattle, specifically looking at how heat stress affects the intrafollicular environment. What she enjoys about this research is that it contributes to additional knowledge on how to improve the reproductive efficiency of livestock in wake of climate change becoming more recognized as a serious problem.

Kamryn received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Georgia and her master of Science at the University of Florida’s Department of Animal Sciences. She is currently a PhD student at Virginia Tech in the School of Animal Sciences.
